Enabling Handwriting Recognition on Clevertouch Panels

The new Clevertouch panels have had the Google keyboard installed.  This is to allow you to input text into the panels using handwriting instead of the onscreen keyboard.  You will need to change the input on the Clevertouch panel for this to work.

First open a box where you can enter text, this is to invoke the existing built-in keyboard.

Long press on the space bar to bring up the input methods as shown.  Change the toggle to “Gboard”.

The keyboard will immediately change to Gboard.  You will now need to enable the handwriting in the keyboard’s preferences. 

With the keyboard displayed press the settings cog

Written Steps:

GBoard > Settings > Languages > English (UK) > Tick handwriting > Press done > Close settings.

Now that the handwriting feature is turned on you can switch to it by long pressing the space bar to change keyboard and choosing “English (UK) Handwriting”.  The keyboard will display a blank space for you to write into. 

  

 This keyboard and be resized to a floating window so that it does not take up the bottom of the screen.

Press this button on the left.

This will display this menu which will give the resize option.

This is an example of the keyboard but now as a floating window.
